ITN24 CC - Photo Safari in Torre Del Greco
18 oct. 2024First, students were divided into 4 groups and explored the city of Torre de Greco from a topic.
The group 1 had to work on architecture and Local History : they had to take photos to historical monuments, churches, palaces, and the characteristic architecture of the area. They could also focus on architectural details such as windows, doors, mosaics, or facades.
The group 2 had to work on the daily life of fishermen. They had to tell the story of everyday life and the sea-based economy. They could focus on the life of local fishermen; their tolls, boats, nets, and the market. They could photograph moments from the day of those who live by the sea, such as the early morning departure or the return to the harbor
The group 3 had to work on seascapes and nature. They had to document the beauty and power of nature. They could focus on natural landscapes : beaches, cliffs, sunsets,, and coastal vegetation. They could capture the sea at diffrent times of the day, highlighting the light and atmosphere that characterized it.
Lastly, the group 4 had to work on local culture and traditions. They had to showcase the connection between the sea and the community. They explored the local culture through festivals, typical foods, craft shops, or traditional activities.They could also focus on the people : portraits ofartisans, shopkeepers, or local residents.
After that, each group had to create a slide show from the photos they had collected and present it to the rest of the students. They had to cooperate to produce visual material to convey their idea and to prepare the due presentation.
With this photo safari students had the opportunity to establish comparisons to their own countries, which is veryimportant in what concerns European citizenship. They discovered the town and many cultural aspects. Besides thisaspect, they also improve their teamwork skill, their language and social skills.
