Students went to the city of Noto, the capital of the Baroque. Italian students gave the history of all highlights. We started our guided tour at the royal gate and went to the square of Basilica of St Nicolo. It is the most important monument of the city. Its construction dates back to the 17th century. We learned about its interior and exterior and about St. Corrado.

Porta Reale is situated at the entrance to the city. It is one of the most important monuments in the city. It was built in 1785 and stands as a symbol of the city's revival after the 1693 earthquake. The gate features an elegant, neoclassical style and leads into the heart of Noto. The gate is topped with a statue of Saint Michael.

Noto Cathedral (Cattedrale di San Nicolò) is one of the most iconic buildings in the city. It was originally built in the 1700s but was severely damaged in the 1693 earthquake and rebuilt between 1703 and 1776. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Nicholas and is a prime example of Sicilian Baroque architecture.

Palazzo Ducezio Description is the town hall. It was built between 1746 and 1758 and is named after the ancient Greek and Roman Duke of Noto. The building has an elegant "Sala degli Specchi" (Hall of Mirrors). Palazzo Nicolaci di Villadorata this aristocratic palace, built in the 18th century, is one of Noto's most fascinating buildings. It's famous for its elaborate and decorative balconies, which feature intricate stonework and sculptures of lions, cherubs, and various figures.

The Infiorata di Noto is a highly anticipated annual event that deserves mention. Every year in May, the streets of Noto are adorned with intricate flower carpets in a colorful celebration of art and spring. The flower designs cover the streets and the event has become one of Sicily's most famous festivals. Church of San Carlo al Corso is a beautiful Baroque church. It was built in the 18th century by the architect Vincenzo Sinatra. The Teatro Tina di Lorenzo is a historic theater in Noto, built in 1865. The neoclassical style of the building, along with its ornate decorations inside, make this theater an elegant venue for art and culture.

The historical value of the city and its impact on pupils education was good. Pupils learned a lot and they enjoyed visiting all the UNESCO sites. They learned about the importance of protection of these places.
