The intervenient shows slides about the goals of the NGO and protection of the Syracuse maritime area.
The promotion of the sustainable development of the area is developed during the activities, with particular regard to the enhancement of traditional activities, local cultures, environmentally-friendly tourism and the use of socially sensitive groups and socially sensitive categories.

It s important to have the implementation of study, monitoring and scientific research programmes in the fields of natural sciences and environmental protection, in order to ensure systematic knowledge. The idea was for students to discover this topic.

During 3 workshops, our students had a lot of informations about the maritime area: observe an aquarium, swin the 3D world, analyse micro.

Aquarium: Crustaceans are mainly aquatic and mostly marine, shrimps, lobsters, crabs, barnacles and water fleas. The body of crustaceans is divided into head, thorax and abdomen. More than 50,000 different species of crustaceans are known of which 400 are found in the Mediterranean divided into 9 classes. Porifers: better known as sponges, they are aquatic and mainly marine, sessile animals, which therefore live anchored to the bottom, consisting of rocks, shells, corals or other hard surfaces. 3D glasses: by using the technology of virtual reality students can experience the joy, beauty and awe of swimming with fishes, corals, dolphins without supporting captivity or destroy the flora. Virtual reality works using a headset or pair of goggles to create a simulated experience based on real footage. It was really an unique experience that pupils never lived before.

Microscopes: one by one students watched with the zoom and changed the focus to see an algua with plankton inside. The microorganism lives in water and transported by the movement of water. The guide shown different shells that we can find in the sand. They saw real eggs of ray manta. He presented a vegetal which looks like a sponge. When the plant dies, the sand breaks in Poseidon Oceanica balls.

Controle and protect: the intervenient proposed the demonstration of the caméra to watch and contrôle the littoral. He explained the rules of fishing and the different sort of Fishes that we can see (dolphins, tunas…)

The activities were really interesting and students discovered a lot of new knowledges about the Mediterranean sea
