FR25 EC Drama workshop ‘Promote European values’

The students were divided into 8 groups of different countries (groups of 4 to 6 students, 4 countries in each group). 

First, each group drew two papers :

-one in the list 2025-2026 RESpectOl values : 
Will, Participation, Pride, Independence, Resistance, Reconciliation, Equality, Conviction, Heritage

-the other in a list of spheres of daily life : 
Family, School, Sports, Politics, Journalism, Work, Culture (film/art/literature), Culture (music, dance).

So, each group had 1 hour to write and stage a 5-minute role play to promote the value in the sphere they had been in and celebrate cultural diversity within the EU. 

At the end, each group presented their 5-minute role-playing game to the other groups who had to guess what the value and sphere celebrated by the role-playing game were, then a vote was held among all the students to choose the preferred role-playing game. 

By writing and playing each role-play game, the students were able to understand that the 2025-2026 RESpectOlOlympic and European values were common to the different spheres of society and that preserving them is a guarantee of living well together and enjoying oneself. The students were able to develop their creativity in writing and staging : some were very comfortable, others lacked self-confidence to enter a role but the group work allowed everyone to find their place in the workshop. Finally, this workshop illustrates what Europe can achieve when it unites rather than divides: a creative, lively, supportive Europe, beyond borders.
