ITR25 INC MC City Tour Rome

This activity allows students to discover Rome, a historic European capital famous for its ancient monuments, Baroque squares, and artistic heritage. Italian students act as guides, presenting key sites such as Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon in English to the international group. The visit gives participants the chance to explore Rome’s rich past and living culture while practicing English, cooperation, and intercultural communication. Students follow a walking tour through some of Rome’s most iconic places:

Piazza di Spagna & Spanish Steps: Students learn about the history of this elegant square, its famous staircase, and its role as a meeting point for artists, writers, and visitors from all over Europe.

Piazza Navona: Guided by their French classmates, students discover this Baroque square built on the site of an ancient Roman stadium, with its fountains, churches, and lively atmosphere.

The Pantheon: Students visit one of the best-preserved monuments of Ancient Rome and learn about its impressive architecture, its transformation into a church, and its symbolic importance in European history.

Along the way, Italian students guide their peers in English, sharing historical facts, artistic details, legends, and small anecdotes about daily life in Rome. The tour encourages students to ask questions, take notes, and interact with their guides in English, turning sightseeing into an active learning experience. Connections are made between Rome’s heritage and today’s European identity, showing how history, culture, and shared values have shaped modern Europe.
