IT22 Ice Breaker: “Games and activities”
16 nov. 2022First, the students warmed up with a slow-paced run and then trained on an obstacle course. Afterwards, two sports are offered: volleyball and badminton. The students competed in mixed teams of different nationalities. The aim of these activities is to get to know each other and to develop team spirit. Thus, for the students, it is important to be able to communicate each time the ball or the shuttlecock are touched and it is more than necessary to be able to move quickly.
Finally, a last activity is proposed: tenniball. It is a combination of tennis and volleyball. In this game-sport, the students used a ball used to play volleyball and the game is played on the badminton court. The match is won in the best of 2 sets out of 3 and the set is won on reaching 10 points even with the gap of only one point (ex: 10-9). The game begins with the serve that is made behind the baseline and is valid if the ball crosses the center line. Players take turns serving and one touch per teams is allowed, there are no passes between players of the same team. It is allowed to hit the ball with different parts of the body and with the foot only after a bounce on the ground. Players change their place every 2 points made by the same team and change are made at each error. Two referees are provided for the conduct of the match, who can check the score of two teams if necessary.
Thanks to the different physical activities offered, the pupils learnt to work collectively and to help each other. They developed their agility.
