ITS25 CC – Workshop about sustainable development - Save the Planet

The workshop proposed by our Syracuse counterparts is untitled "Saving our planet: concrete actions for a sustainable future". 

Our nine students' correspondents lead the activity. They present the objectives, they explain the process, they facilitate the various steps.

1) A video on climate change and biodiversity loss introduces an initial discussion on these issues. 

Our students must take note of these main pieces of information and then all the students start a discussion on these subjects: causes, consequences, etc.

2) In three groups, the students reflect on daily actions they can take to limit their environmental impact: plastic consumption, travel, food, domestic energy, etc.

Each group draws up a list of three concrete changes to implement and shares them with the others.

3) Also in these groups, they reflect on the decline in biodiversity linked to human activities impact, its effects, and the solutions to implement.

4) Also in groups, they create a poster to present to the others: organize a local cleanup, create a sustainable school garden, and promote renewable energy. 

It is an opportunity to speak in front of others, to explain, to argue, to answer questions...

These posters will be displayed within the school.

5) A review of the activity is conducted. Each student presents a concrete personal commitment to take action for the environment.

Students in both countries realize that they face the same environmental challenges: one planet. They understand that, at their own level, they can take concrete and simple action at home and at school
