FR23 MSTE - Biotopia visit
12 nov. 2023The students are divided in different mixed groups. Students discovered the Bio-topia site, a place dedicated to the conservation and preservation of biodiversity. Bio-Topia’s mission is to promote and protect the flora and fauna of our region, to contribute to the preservation of endangered species on all continents and to raise awareness of environmental protection. The conservation of endangered species at Bio-Topia is part of various programs aimed at reintroducing these animals into their natural environments.
The students get knowledge about the fauna of the various environments and the issues of water, ocean pollution and the need to reduce waste. Students had to answer a questionnaire with fun challenges on the species present, biodiversity, animal diets, ways to protect them. They took a fun photo in the park.
Bio-Topia wants to inform the public about the fauna of the different environments that make up the park, but also to raise awareness of the issue of water, ocean pollution and the need to reduce waste, by inviting them to become also a player in biodiversity.
Bio-Topia also carries out a scientific research mission by developing knowledge about the species present in order to fully contribute to their protection and preservation. It is a member of the Association Française des Parc Zoologique(AFdPZ) and supports the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) and the European Program for Endangered Species. He regularly organizes conservation weekends to deepen everyone's knowledge of an endangered species.
The students learned about biodiversity, flora and fauna, they are more aware of the need to protect them. They are more aware of their role as citizens of tomorrow.
