Accompanied by a guide, the students discovered the historic center of Wexford, a town founded around 800, at the time of the Viking invasions.
The tour begins at the memorial to the revolt of 1798, when the people of Wexford rose up against the powers that be.
The tour then moves on to medieval remains with walls and towers (Town Wall, West Tower), as well as St
Selskar'schurch, a 12th-century abbey.
In the 12th century, the town was besieged by the Normans, who took possession of it.
Normans modified the town and built the stone wall that surrounds it.
The guide uses many anecdotes
to bring these moments of history to life and this allows students to go back into the city's past.

The French students were able to discover the rich historical past of the Wexford region.

They were particularly attentive to the English explanations given by the guide
