First they discover different species of birds living in Poland, presented by a chemistry teacher, a birdwatcher. He shows them photos of different birds such as eagles and buzzards. He describes the colours and talks about their diet. He presents birds that live on an artificial lake near Plock. In a second stage, they attends a biology lesson given by the Polish students under guidance of a teacher. First they watch a film on the loss of biodiversity and its causes. They are able to assess their understanding of the essential information through a quiz.
Then the Polish students presents a PowerPoint presentation on endangered species and the causes of this. They present the diversity of living organisms on earth, such as animals and plants and the consequences of climate change, and pollution, monoculture…and gave example of animals in danger of extinction like Eurasian lynx. Then the French students and their partners have to find solutions to this problem and present them in the form of a poster. The title of their poster is “how to protect biodiversity”. A sheet of paper and pens are provided and they are given 15 minutes to complete the talk. They present their posters to the group in English.
They produce a poster in a variety of ways. They learn about biodiversity and solutions against the loss of biodiversity.
