FR24 CAE Workshop at the LAAC
11 nov. 2024The students, divided into two multinational groups, visit the LAAC (Lieu d’Art et d’Action Contemporaine), where they are welcomed by a cultural mediator. She guides them through several rooms of the museum to explore and discuss three specific artworks—installations, photographs, and paintings—from the collection. These selected pieces engage with themes such as the environment, sustainable development, and the maritime territory.
Following the guided tour, the students participate in the "Inhabiting Nature" workshop. Working in pairs—each composed of one student from Dunkirk and their international correspondent—they are invited to create a conceptual map and invent new codes. This creative process aims to imagine alternative spaces and transform reality, blending artistic interpretation with ecological and territorial reflection.
The experience encourages dialogue between cultures and perspectives, fostering both creativity and critical thinking.
Through art, the students reflect on their relationship to nature and their role in shaping the world of tomorrow.
This cross-cultural collaboration becomes a catalyst for new ideas, grounded in both local identity and global concerns.
Students demonstrated a deeper understanding of environmental issues and sustainable development, reflecting on how these themes were explored in contemporary art. They successfully created a collaborative map that combined artistic expression with environmental themes, showcasing their creativity and problem-solving skills. These interactive and practical activities engaged the students to reflect as well as to cooperate, each with their skills and abilities . Working in international pairs, students developed strong teamwork skills and gained a broader perspective on global environmental issues
