This activity focuses on visual arts, cultural heritage, and European artistic identity, offering students the opportunity to engage directly with major works of modern art. Through a short immersive museum visit, students explore how artistic expression reflects historical context, personal vision, and cultural transformation. Students take part in a guided visit of the museum, with particular attention given to key artworks and the life of Pablo Picasso. By observing paintings (The 3 Graces 1923), sculptures, ceramics (Toro 1950) and multimedia exhibits, they analyse artistic techniques, recurring themes, and stylistic choices. This direct contact with artworks encourages careful observation and a deeper understanding of artistic creation.
Throughout the visit, students are invited to share their impressions and interpretations, discussing both personal responses and the historical and cultural context of the works. Working in small groups, they exchange ideas, compare viewpoints, and refine their interpretations through dialogue. This
collaborative approach strengthens critical thinking and interpretative skills.
The activity may be extended through short creative or reflective tasks inspired by Picasso’s work, such as sketches, captions, notes, or short presentations. These productions allow students to connect artistic observation with personal expression and creativity.

Students took part in a creative workshop focused on ceramic painting with blue and black colours.
They were given a white ceramic plate and asked to paint it using motifs and images of their own choice.

The visit concludes with a collective reflection, during which students discuss what they have learned and how art contributes to a better understanding of culture, history, and society.

Through this experience, they gain insight into the role of Picasso‘s art in European cultural heritage and identity.
The activity encouraged creativity, personal expression, and inspiration from art and culture.
