This activity focuses on architecture, and cultural heritage, offering students the opportunity to explore major historical sites in Málaga through direct and immersive experience. By visiting the Alcazaba and the Roman Theatre, students gain insight into how heritage sites reflect the historical, cultural, and social development of a city. They take part in a guided visit, with particular attention given to their history and strategic importance. Through close observation of architectural features, inscriptions, and site layout, students analyse how these monuments illustrate different historical periods and influences that have shaped Málaga.
Throughout the visit, students engage in discussion and reflection, sharing interpretations and examining the cultural and historical significance of the sites. Working collaboratively, they exchange viewpoints and contribute to the interpretation of heritage.
The activity may be extended through creative or analytical tasks inspired by the visit, such as sketches, timelines, captions, or short presentations.. The visit concludes with a 
visit to the port. The walk along the marina of Málaga allowsstudents to discover the city from the seaside.They stop near La Farola, where the teacher explains its history and rolefor navigation.
The 
lighthouse is an important symbol of Málaga’s maritime identity. Students then discussed the differences betweenthe Port of Dunkirk and the Port of Málaga. They compare climate, activities, and economic functions of both ports.

 

Actively using language to partake in this activity with students from other countries, communicating and sharing information, thoughts and opinions. Cultural and historical aspects in the city walking tour open up for better understanding for others/tolerance and openness for other cultures, societies and peoples. This will foster cross-cultural understanding and enrich the students’ cultural awareness. Digitalization is integrated through the use of multimedia resources during the activities. Through this experience, students develop a stronger awareness of the value of heritage sites and their connection to European history.
