LT26 MSTE Excursion to Mokslo Sala (Science Island)

Students visit Mokslo Sala, an interactive science and innovation centre. Through hands-on exhibitions and experiments, they explore topics related to science, technology, and innovation. The different activities were really different and lot of topics were proposed:

You are what you eat 1. Scan the typical products that make your meals.2. Check the health and environmental impact of your choices.

Revival of the Zeppelin 1. Press and hold the middle button to lift the Zeppelin into the air. 2. Use buttons on the panel to guide it

Load the ship! 1. Put various containers on the ship's deck. 2. Balance the load carefully, to avoid ship capsize!

Heart of your car 1. Turn the crank to move the engine model. 2. Watch the phases. 3. Can you spot fuel injection, ignition and exhaust?

Be careful with water energy 1. Choose the most sustainable strategy for hydropower. 2. Try different locations and different dam

Feed your stock! It's estimated that over one billion tonnes of animal feed is produced annually, with China being the largest manufacturer. Global commercial feed manufacturing generates an estimated turnover of over $400 billion a year. Most of the fodder goes to the cultivation of poultry (44%), pigs (28%), and cattle (8%). What animals eat is essential as it affects not only their health but also the environment. 

The visit encourages active participation, experimentation, questioning, allowing students to learn through experience and discovery in an engaging environment. They enjoyed to try every workshops without thinking of the time. The activities were most of them manual and was the occasion to collaborate, enjoy the no screen life.
