EC Biodiversity- Erasmus Days
09 oct. 2023First, the 35 high school students involved in a Erasmus+ project about sustainable development are divided into groups of 3 or 4. Each group is asked to create 3 lapbooks (animated posters) in English on one of the following topics in Dunkirk, France and Europe : preservation of the sea and oceans, preservation of coastal areas, over-consumption, waste management, terrestrial flora and fauna, renewable energy, eco-actions/eco-gestures, ports and the environment, construction and the environment, transport and the environment, the Olympic Games and the environment. They then carry out in-depth research on this topic. Their research is displayed (in English) on posters in the high school hall during the week of Erasmus Days.
On the first day of Erasmus Days, the class hosts pupils from secondary schools involved in Erasmus+ projects. After the high school's Erasmus+ ambassadors welcome them and present their experience and commitment to European projects, the class first presents their posters in English.
All students then take part in a Kahoot ! about biodiversity created by the class and run by two of them. Finally, mixed groups of secondary school and high school students are formed to work together on sustainable school.
Young people aged 13 to 17 meet to discuss a European event. Pupils from secondary schools are introduced to the concept of biodiversity through the exhibition presented to them by the high school students.
After the high school students explain their posters to the secondary school students, they carry out fun activities on sustainable development.
