The students go to the “Halle aux Sucres” a centre of resources and expertise on sustainable development, where they are first welcomed by representatives of the NGO "OX FAM France". They are offered ice-breaking activities to help them get to know the other forum participants (vocational high school students, university students, young climate influencers). They are then presented with the work launched by the newspaper "Libération" with a view to the publication of a supplement in the national edition, looking at how young people see the world of tomorrow. A local councillor then reminds them of the current challenges facing industry in the Dunkirk area. This is followed by a series of quizzes led by a journalist from NOWU, a media outlet that covers environmental issues : one on energy, a second on renewable energies, a third on transport and mobility.

In the afternoon, the students are divided into groups and asked to put forward 2 to 5 recommendations for the city of Dunkirk, based on a topic : transport and mobility, training and employment, rethinking culture. Finally, the different groups present their proposals to all the participants, who vote on them.

At the end of the day, all the young people are invited to thye “Studio 43” for a screening of Thomas Cailley's film "Le Règne Animal", starring Romain Duris, Paul Kircher and Adèle Exarchopoulos. The screening is followed by a debate on how the climate crisis is portrayed in the cinema.

The young people meet professionals working on the energy transition from the political and industrial spheres, journalists and members of associations. They learn a great deal about the environment and what is at stake, particularly in their local area.
