EC Fabuleuse factory
22 sept. 2023The students went to Place Jean Bart in Dunkirk, where a mini-city of science and industry was set up. Four domes and a tent welcome them to talk about climate warming, the emergence of new jobs, short circuits, air quality... through meetings with professionals and associations. The Fabulous factory is neither an exhibition nor a forum but consists of quizzes, tests, manipulations, interactive experiences, mini-conferences intended to learn, test, play and exchange. Virtual reality headsets and films are available to propel young people into the jobs and workshops of tomorrow and digital professions. They also hear about the place of women and the importance of apprenticeship in the industry. Young people also discover how, in the face of the climate emergency, Dunkirk is innovating to invent the industry of tomorrow : greener and virtuous, source of employment and a better quality of life for the inhabitants. They discover how all the actors of the territory coordinate to develop innovative actions (especially around the nuclear sector, battery or the use of fatal heat or hydrogen) and that this issue of decarbonization has enabled the Dunkirk region to regain a certain dynamism and attractiveness and to bring out more than 16,000 future jobs that are presented to students. They meet and exchange with players involved in the transition of the territory within the dynamic Dunkirk : large historical industrialists (Arcelor Mittal, Aluminium Dunkerque, Coca Cola, etc.), energy companies (EDF, Engie, RTE, etc.), future locations (Verkor, H2V, ProLogium, etc.), education and academic stakeholders (universities) and associations (e.g., Local Health Observatory).
The students meet public and private actors, industry and associations, to discover, in a fun and educational way, industry and the jobs of tomorrow in Dunkirk by visiting a village organized in the form of a mini City of Science and Industry.
