The students are divided into several groups and each has to create a climate mural. First of all, the group is divided into 2 teams, each team gathers around a table supervised by a mediator from the "halle aux sucres", "living place for the sustainable city" of Dunkerque and discovers maps representing the different components of climate change, elaborated from the data of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) created by the UN in 1988

Firstly, they must link the maps and arrange them on a poster which they entitle and then illustrate.

All the groups receive the same cards on the environment and biodiversity. The first step was to study 3 cards on the causes and consequences of global warming. The students had to discuss in order to put them in the right order. For the second stage, several cards were added and the students had to integrate them with the 3 previous ones, always with the aim of analysing the causes and consequences of global warming. Finally, for the last stage, they created the climate mural by personalising it with drawings, images, words, etc.

Finally, the mediators encourage the students to discuss their emotions, their positions, the questions they ask themselves, the solutions they know and their own practices.

Written support : posters

The students learned that every citizen has a role to play in preserving the environment and biodiversity. They thought about other ways of consuming that would avoid the negative effects of human action. They also worked together and developed logical and artistic skills. Oral practices : restitution of the reflection led by the team in the form of a summary presentation and debriefing

At the end of the workshop, the mediators ask the students to list all the references that come to their minds about climate change : speeches, songs, books, social networks, films, etc., which will be used in the context of events organised next summer on the beach in Dunkirk, aiming at attracting and reaching young people.
