FR23 PSLL - Ice breaking (Signs circle - Let’s talk)
12 nov. 2023Signs circle: The game was designed to reproduce signs invented and shown by the participants. It was a game of dexterity and memory. The students stand in a circle, each choosing a sign that must be visible to everyone, easy to remember and to perform. Each student shows his or her sign to the others and tries to memorise the others'. Everyone gets into the rhythm: 2 claps on the knees and one in the hands and the person who is going to start is designated. The person who has been called makes his sign, then that of the person he is calling, and so on.
Let’s talk: The aim of this game is to build team spirit and energize the group and to develop the ability to improvise. Indeed, the students are involved to inventing a story. The students are in a circle. They send a ball to each other and when one of them receives the ball, he/she has to say a simple sentence that completes the sentence said by the previous student. The story starters are suggested by the teachers supervising the activity to the first student.
Bingo: This game was played in several stages. For the first stage, each participant received a sheet of paper and moved around the room asking questions of the other participants. The aim was to fill the table with different names. For the second stage, the students were divided into two rows. They move up a row after being asked a question by the leader of the game or by the participants. Finally, for the third stage, the students stood in a circle and had to remember the first names of the participants. They then had to name their neighbours from left to right. The person who did this trick correctly won the knowledge game.
This game got the students moving, encouraged them to reach out to others and to discover more personal aspects of themselves. The students get to know each other better after this game and are ready to work together for future workshops.
