PL24 EC - Biodiversity - How do we understand it?
24 févr. 2024Each French student works with their Polish pen pal in the computer room.
For one hour, in pairs they have to create an electronic version of the biodiversity definitions translated on Monday at the Płock Zoo, in the form of an electronic poster entitled “how do we understand biodiversity”. They also can use their own knowledge and point of view about this topic.
First, each pair thinks about the content of their poster based on the notes they have taken and completes their texts with their personal knowledge or research. Then they select photos they have taken at the zoo or images from the internet to illustrate their definitions and positions on the subject.

Then they select photos they have taken at the zoo or images from the internet to illustrate their definitions and positions on the subject. Finally, they agree on the tool they will use to create their poster (powerpoint, canva, etc.) and work together to design it.
This activity aims at making the peers aware of what biodiversity is and why it is important for life on Earth.
Students create their electronic poster and send it to the coordinator.
All the posters are collected and put together in a file that the whole Polish school can view on screens in the school hall and in front of the student council room. What's more, all the posters are posted on a padlet and the next day the students vote for their favourite poster.
