PL24 PSLL - Master of teaching

The students are divided into groups to work on developing an approximately 20-minute lesson on biodiversity. They can develop materials to use during lessons in paper or electronic versions. They are asked to prepare to teach a class of 29 people.

The group 1 present a powerpoint, a video, a game that combines texts and images, and a kahoot!

The group 2 present a powerpoint and mind maps about : what the biodiversity is, the causes of endangeredbiodiversity, how to protect it, and 2 examples (Borneo, palm oil), shows a short cartoon.

The group 3 starts with a kahoot ! Then they show a short silent cartoon and present a powerpoint in which they answer questions : how does trash impact biodiversity, how can we help, what is waste recycling, organic and inorganic waste, waste recycling process, how to segregate waste. Finally they lead a game on waste sorting and finish with a Kahoot!

The group 4 proposes a powerpoint about biodiversity in general, then they organise a bingo from words they have written on the board.

The group 5 presents a powerpoint about poaching, then they propose an exercise in matching definitions and words.

After the lessons, a jury consisting of representatives of students and teachers will evaluate the lessons and select the one they consider the most interesting.

Students demonstrate knowledge of biodiversity issues. They develop their creativity skills. Together they decide on the course of the lesson and have to choose the best ideas. They listen to each other, develop a sense of respect for others. Working in a group, they share responsibility, assign tasks, communicate, and get to know each other better, which helps build relationships and strengthen acquaintances and friendships. They develop social, linguistic and digital competences by searching for ideas and information on the Internet.
