LT26 CAE Educational Visit “Play Life“ and “Parallel” Virtual Reality

During our Hexa Cinema educational session, students discover lessons in a new way by using virtual reality headsets. When they arrive at the VR area, they find a chair with a headset and headphones on a holder next to it. First, students place the headphones around their neck, then put on the VR headset and adjust it until it feels secure and comfortable. They slowly turn their head to make sure it does not press too hard or slip. If the image is not clear, they gently move the headset up or down until the picture becomes sharp. Students who wear glasses or contact lenses keep them on during the session. It includes an immersive film. Live Life invites students to experience art up close as 20 paintings by Algis Kriščiūnas come to life in a 3D space, like stories shown on a cinema screen. 

During this activity, the students worked in small teams at “Parallel Studio” and used 3D VR headsets to play different fun and immersive games. Each game required cooperation, clear communication, and quick decisions. In a shooting game, players had to aim at moving targets and protect their team by covering different areas. They learned to give simple instructions, share roles, and stay focused under pressure.

In a VR volleyball game, the teams played against each other and tried to score points by serving, passing, and blocking. They had to coordinate their movements, encourage each other, and react fast to win as a group. In a coin-collecting challenge, players explored a virtual space to pick up coins while avoiding obstacles. One person could guide the others, and the team had to plan the best route to collect as many coins as possible. Some sessions also included target shooting mini-games, where players competed in a friendly way, but still supported their teammates by giving tips and celebrating progress. Overall, the activity was playful, dynamic, and helped students build confidence and stronger team spirit.

Students experienced an original immersive activity that created curiosity and excitement from the start. They felt “inside” the scenes, which increased their attention and involvement. The artistic universe stimulated their imagination and helped them connect with emotions. The landscapes produced a strong sense of wonder and a better understanding of the artist and its identity. The games in teams were their favourite activities. They enjoyed it a lot.
