LT26 DC Project Work (Part 2) – Developing a Technology Solution in Depth

In this follow-up project activity, the activity takes place in several stages. It involves finding technological solutions to given problems.

Step 1: Working in the same international groups, the students choose an assertion from a transmitted list of about twenty that pose a problem and for which they must imagine 5 solutions based on technology.

Step 2: They must then evaluate the technological solutions they have found by ranking them. A grid of questions is proposed that will allow to select the most interesting technological solution among the 5: does the solution reduce the problem? ; is it feasible? Will teenagers want to use it? Would it work in France and Lithuania? Does this solution protect data, reduce risks, is it inclusive? Is it more than "an application that already exists"? Also they select one solution previously proposed and develop it in depth.

Step 3: The students create their poster in pairs, on a computer. They must specify in addition to their names, the name of their team, the name of their technological solution, the nature of the problem, who it impacts, then their idea to solve it.  The groups refine their concept by clearly defining the problem, the target audience, and the technological features of their solution.

Step 4: Students prepare three outputs: a detailed idea description, a short and convincing oral pitch, a promotional poster presenting the solution in a clear and creative way. In turn, they finally present their project, then answer the questions of their comrades.

Throughout the activity, students collaborate, exchange feedback, and improve their communication strategies in order to present their idea effectively to others. The final presentations allow students to share their projects, receive feedback, and reflect on the impact of their solutions.
